Project 3 will identify biomarkers in human bio-samples that predict the effects of a particular diet in the context of healthy aging.

In addition to the continued quantification of the validated, recently postulated new promising biomarkers, including element species, emerging stress markers and hormonal markers will be assessed.

The biomarkers provide information on the intake of certain foods and ingredients and allow statements to be made about whether these substances have a preventive or harmful effect on health.

The data basis is provided by participants of the NutriAct intervention study (Project Z2), the MoKaRi intervention in close cooperation with NutriCard and the ProAID study, in collaboration with the NutriAct Junior Research Group ProAID.

The biomarker analysis, together with the evaluation of the intervention studies, should provide a scientific basis for age-related nutritional recommendations and the development of products for an age-based diet.
