In the second funding period, the systematic recording and analysis of dietary patterns, i.e. the combination of different foods based on the complexity of human nutrition, will be continued in the Berlin/Potsdam population aged from 50 to 70 years.
It will be investigated whether changes in nutritional behavior can have a positive effect on health and prevent major chronic diseases (type 2 diabetes, heart attack, stroke, cancer).
In addition to the epidemiological methods described, qualitative sociological methods will be applied, for example in the form of narrative interviews in the NutriAct target group. The aim is to describe the influence of biographical and individual changes on the diet, such as the transition from working life to retirement. The results of the study will be used to support a more effective modification of dietary behavior towards a healthier lifestyle.
In addition, a proof-of-concept study for a web-based system to support a healthy balanced diet will be developed. In this context, the social acceptance of such technologies will be evaluated.
