Virtual NutriAct Summer School 2020

For the first time, the NutriAct Summer School for young scientists took place in online format. Originally, the 5th NutriAct Summer School on the topic "Presenting & Improvising" was to take place in Caputh at the Schwielowsee. Due to the current policies to contain the new coronavirus, an alternative solution had to be found quickly. The last few months have shown that the successful presentation of scientific results, but also the own person, is now becoming increasingly important in video conferences and other online formats. The aim of the virtual Summer School was therefore to improve one's personal presentation skills and to adapt them to online formats and also to practice scientific exchange in virtual space. Also, potential inhibition be reduced. For the start of the event Karsten Stölzgen, trainer at  mensch-und-kommunikation GmbH, developed strategies for great online presentations in a live online training together with the young scientists of the 2nd funding phase. The focus was particularly on how to create a clear structure, arouse interest and achieve a lively appearance. In the afternoon, the young scientists worked in groups of two on their presentations with the trainer. On the second day of the Summer School, the young scientists exchanged views on the state of their research and continued networking within the cluster. This succeeded wonderfully in the online format as well, not least through the use of various interactive online tools.
